A few months ago my sweet hubby dug some holes, dropped some posts in and strung some lines in our backyard, giving me the most wonderful gift...a clothesline=)
There is something so calming and therapeutic about afternoon sun, lawnmowers humming, windchimes playing, a sweet baby on a blanket in the grass, and a big basket of freshly laundered clothes ready to be hung...don't you agree?

Dear Adriane,
ReplyDeleteAhh the fresh smell of your sheets and towels after they have been hanging out on the line all day blowing in the wind. Oh how I miss that. Every place we have been we have been able to have a clothes line....until this one. Now with no dryer for 26 years and this 1700's basement for these last 12 years and having to hang it down there...and we can not put up a line. No trees to attach one and I asked about poles and was told no:(( I am so super jealous. Maybe someday I will come visit and bring my wet wash and we can talk and I will borrow your line?? Thant would be fun!!! And crazy but fun!!
oh yes...and the crispness and the scent...somehow makes us feel happier!!! great pictures!

happy summer!
there is something therapeutic about the IDEA of a clothesline, i have to admit, but in reality... i remember grandma having to re-wash some thing from the clothesline because a bird pooped on it... so that has always discouraged me. though maybe the only problem was that she was hanging the clothes RIGHT NEXT to the bird feeders?? ;)
